FAQS about my communications services

My most frequently asked questions...

Inspire confidence in your clients with my subject matter expertise

My strong skillset in terms of language and cultural knowledge, teamed with my creative writing skills, stylistic intuition and meticulous editing expertise, all fuse together to mean I can help a wide range of clients in different industries.

That being said, there are certain areas of expertise I’ve polished to a shine over the years, so you can feel the benefit of my specific subject matter knowledge:

Can you translate INTO French, German or Swedish FROM English?
As is standard practice among translation professionals, I only translate into my native language, English, as I know the language and culture like the back of my hand. If you need French, German or Swedish translations, let me know, and I can point you in the direction of the right professional.

Do you offer interpreting (oral translation) services?
No, I only help my clients with their written communications.

Is there a Spire Translations team, or do you work independently?
I’m a one-person translation and editing band, so I work independently. However, I’m surrounded by a network of wonderful colleagues I can refer clients to if a project is beyond my own expertise.

Do you use AI?
I love connecting people, businesses and communities on a human-to-human level through hand-crafted communications, so you can rest assured you’ll get bespoke, human-written texts from me. However, I do offer a machine translation post-editing service if budgets or timelines are tight. If you have some AI-written content you’d like edited to better suit your audience or purpose, I’d be happy to work with you on that.

How much do your services cost?
No two projects, clients or contexts are the same, so I calculate my prices on a case-by-case basis based on text type, language combination, subject matter, scope and more. I’m happy to provide you with a free quote, or we can have a chat to come up with a solution that fits your budget.
